I bought the iGadgitz PT310 Mini Lightweight Table Top Stand Tripod and Grip Stabilizer. Had it for a year and I think it is really handy.

Cost me only £13.59 UK.

Also very handy when I am doing walk about video. If it ever broke, I would buy another. :-)

Back when RRS was in San Luis Obispo I came in to find the silver one. I'd been through a variety of similar sizes and for $100 treated myself. Had a Bogen tabletop tripod that was stolen at restaurant shoot so was looking for a replacement. A few years later they had the one with adjustable leg spay so had to get that one.

I have one of the original RRS mini tripods, which features a decent tiny BH-25 ball head. That head is slightly overkill for what it does, but is very solid. I have occasionally moved the BH-25 over to my full-size Gitzo tripod replacing the BH-40 with the 25 for a lighter portable carry if I'm shooting with a smaller camera. The little tripod mostly lives in the fully lowered position. I recently bought a machined aluminum phone holder that features a dovetail attachment -- a fitting compliment to the BH-25 head and clamp above it. That phone holder is a Xiletu, available from B&H for all of $19.95. I used it for a time lapse of the latest eclipse, but has worked out even better as a table-top adjustable phone holder and also macro photo setup, as seen in this pic.
