Oh yes, you can see the sea of tourists waiting to use it at the bottom at a cost.

It is a steep walk but the smart know the subway has two entrances, one in the lower town and one in the upper town, you can let the escalators take the strain for free ;)

Shhh, don't tell the crowds waiting to pat for a 30 second ride.

Igreja de Santa Cruz do Castelo, Lisbon

The Igreja Paroquial do Castelo, also known as the Church of Santa Cruz, is an 18th century building, occupying the site of the original temple built in the 12th century, where once stood an old mosque.
