Let's see your fences

The fence surrounds a mass grave for 95 Confederate soldiers who died at the Battle of Lewisburg, West Virginia. The Commanding Officer for Union Forces would not allow their burial. The bodies were "stored" in a ditch until after the war, then buried here in a mass grave shaped like a cross.

I went on a photo shoot in the Pennypack Watershed, trying to capture something worthy of entering in a Pennypack Watershed Photo Contest in 2009. The weather wasn't cooperating, and I finally packed up my gear and started driving away. Then I saw this, parked my car at the side of the road, and captured this image. (Photographer Feodor Pitcairn was one of the judges.)
