How are you liking this set up? I said to myself before, if Leica ever come out with a Q series with 50mm. I'm sold!
It’s fantastic and the lens is super sharp wide open. I’m getting use to the focal length as generally use wide or longer. I picked up the Sigma 50mm 1.2 for the SL2, it too is super sharp wide open, just the Q3 is such a portable package the SL2 has been resting.
Battery life has been impressive, I carry an extra battery to cover an extended day vs 3 with the SL2.
Switching to macro is easy and useful. I find the small switch to change from auto focus to manual a tad fiddle but is becoming easier. I have added a hotshoe thumb support which helps with balance but needs to be removed when using the Godox X3 trigger, all minor items imo.
Agree. I love the SL2 but its not something I want to carry around hehe. I love holding and shooting with it though. I like the Q2 but dont use it much, not much of a wide shooter. 43mm is tempting. I was ready to get the thumb support but when I tried it, it wasn't for me. I ended up getting a half case with the extra grip and arca swiss compatible mount as it's base. it made the camera more bulky but it's nice to be able to have a more secured grasp as well as the option to put it on a tripod. I was not able to hand held it as it was but I am able to hold the M10 by itself just fine.
I also added an RRS L-bracket which has a small front grip and Arca type mount on both sides so no need to pivot the tripod head. It does add to the weight and size but protects the base of the body.
