In a few hours I took 68 photos of birds that I thought good enough to keep - although some for rarity value rather than because they were good photos

Some people say that the subject shouldn't affect judgements about image quality. But when it comes to birds, I say that's nonsense. My standard is whether it will make my birder friends jealous :). And these definitely make me jealous.

If I ever take an over exposed photo of the loch ness monster I am keeping it. If the subject is a magpie (very common in the UK) - I am deleting it.

Thank you - I guess most are unknown to you - although in the past I have photographed snail kites which are in parts of the US.
