I know it's not much, but this was taken with a 7D and 100-400 + 2x converter...

Nicely captured. If you reduce the exposure time, you can image some of the bands on Jupiter.Jupiter is fun to spot. It is so dang bright no matter if it is in opposition or not. The moons move around very quickly from our perspective. Just hours later they can be in a different order.
My wife's eyes are such that she claims to be able to have seen a moon or two around Jupiter without binocs or telescopes. Some kind of super power that I can't fathom.
I need my camera and big lenses, though I can see two with 7x binocs on a clear night which we don't get very often near Chicago. Nonetheless, one night in 2020 the conjunction with Saturn happened. The best conjunction night was a bust, but the following night I was able to get the pair. Dec. 22, 2020. Jupiter moons top left to bottom right are Europa, Callisto, Io and Ganymede. Saturn's moons were too dim in this exposure.

Wow. Looks great to me!This was from a couple nights ago. I haven't imaged for a few years, and had trouble with the camera and software I was using. For planets, I use a modified ToUcam Pro webcam. I flashed the eeprom to shoot raw video. I then have to process it to debayer it. Unfortunately I could not get the raw video to debayer into a color image the night I tried. I used it for years like that and never had a problem. I reflashed it to restore the factory programming, then shot some video. I was able to get a faitly decent image after processing in Registax, but it isn't one of my best.

Interesting. Do you know the name of the software. I’d love to try something like that too. I still have a telescope and a T-mount.There is software available to capture the feed from the live dispay, at 5X zoom.
@phughes
Despite the difficulties you did really well.
