I shoot this stuff all the time, but I never know where to put it. I'm starting a new thread. Show us shots of things that keep our bellys full and the lights on. I'll start with one I shot yesterday.

A really nice image. If I can make a suggestion, if it were mine, I would crop out much of the sky. It doesn't add anything and makes the interesting detail less prominent. I'd consider cropping in from the right a bit, but that's less of an issue for my taste.

Thanks for the input. I wanted that stripe of gold down at the bottom third of the image. Cropping the sky would put it right in the middle. That PNW gray sky renders those muted pastel colors that I was after, and including the light source adds some depth. That gold stripe is obvious enough that it can withstand some negative space.

I also liked that boat on the right. That's where I drew the crop line. I wasn't after just piles of sawdust, I wanted to set a mood. Maybe I pulled it off, maybe I didn't.

You were up in my neck of the woods. Several Osprey work that strip of river and there is a nest to the south of the business park
