Hopefully this is a sensible place for this!

The wife and I are going to Canada next June/July (3weeks in total) flying into Calgary and then driving to Banff and onwards to Emerald Lake, Jasper, Whistler, ending up on at Tofino on Vancouver Island and flying back from Vancouver.

We have some trips sorted out already, bears, whales and a Glacier, but wondering if there was anything we should particularly look out for and I guess what the weather is likely to be like (I know it can be a bit wet at times - we are from the UK, so thats normal!)

Banff is a remarkle place for photography. You'll have tons of opportunities.

I love Vancouver also but nothing like Banff for photography!

Banff IS great. Just watch out for grizzly warnings.

I plan on starting some threads on guides for birding locations around Los Angeles. Levina and I have been discussing something similar for Travel and Nature/Landscape as well. It would be great if some of the Canadian members put together some quick guides for photo locations in various Canadian locations. We can link to those posts in stickies.

This is a sensible place. I'll ask about places to see. If I get few (or no answers), I'll post in my thread like this: https://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=1526145

Also. look at Flickr.com and look at the maps in the area- this shows where people have imaged things.
Search on PotN (for the next few weeks) and here for "Banff" and other such keywords.

When you take the Peak to Peak Gondola try and get one with the glass bottom.

Squamish is famous for wind surfing. Shannon falls is that area. If there is a lot of water good views from below.

Link is a is bit off. Post #160

If you have time Salt Spring Island is a pretty relaxed place. Goes great with Gummies ;)
