I set a trail camera for otters, but got birds

After the water in this slough got low enough to reveal this critter door into the tree, I had been seeing otters, and the threshold was wet, so that was what I expected.

However I got hundreds of mixed flocks of waders, including Great Blue Herons, LBHs, white & glossy Ibis, Wood Storks, Great Egrets


I wish the whites weren’t so blown out, and I’d gotten better resolution. I wonder what would be the best camera for this situation?
