A few weeks have passed since I joined, and it's high time I properly introduced myself. Unlike many here, I wasn't part of the previous forum.
My primary focus lies in portrait, beauty, and fashion photography. Frequently I'm entrusted with crafting portfolios for models newly signed with local agencies, or those striving to secure agency representation. I started my journey in photography in 2007, evolving into a professional pursuit by 2015. In my view all light is inherently usable, and I don't subscribe to the notion that studio or natural lighting is superior to the other. While I personally lean towards available lighting, I am adept at working with studio lighting as well.
The lens has been my guide, granting me the confidence to venture beyond my hometown of Portland Oregon to live in places such as San Francisco CA, Ketchikan Alaska, New York City, and Los Angeles CA. While I'm primarily self-taught, my travels eventually secured me an internship with acclaimed fashion photographer Michael Thompson while I was living in New York City during 2013 and 2014. That experience, coupled with my other travels, constitute what I consider my unconventional "education". Circumstances related to the pandemic led me back to the Pacific Northwest, and while I was initially very disheartened, I've now found immense gratitude in being back here particularly for the incredible friends I've made since my return.
Anyways, that's about it. I'm not sure what else to say for an introduction post. If you're interested in seeing some of my work, look no further than my signature.
I hope you're all having a pleasant holiday season.
