I just found out about this site last night. It's nice that there are people who want to keep this thing going. I think it's sad that POTN is going bye bye after all these years. Too bad no one else could have taken it over from Pekka. But, it's always a good thing to start fresh sometimes I think. So, it's good to be here!!!

Hello! I'm glad you found out in time! There are still too many people who don't know. With POTN closing down, Focus on Photography really is the best place to move to as most of the POTN crowd moved here already or will do so in the next couple of weeks. Welcome to our new home!!

Welcome, glad you found us. I have very similar feelings as you, but it is what it is. I think you'll find Focus to be a comfortable home and in ways, better than the one we left.

so I just read this in your signature:

Images must be less than 1.6 MB! Anything bigger and they will be deleted (which I really don’t like doing!)

i think every one of my photos have been too big! i was thinking the software might have just prohibited it from uploading like AMASS did at 10mb.

i DID have one image that wouldnt upload but i think it was way too big even for POTN (somewhere around 17mb)...

can this software be configured to block images larger than the 1.6 limit? im CERTAIN i will forget somewhere down the line. like when im browsing at a million o'clock in the morning and decided i have a photo that will work well in a thread..

Will do. I finally fixed the battery grip for my 40D. That was my workhorse at POTN so I hope to get more mileage out of that camera soon. Hopefully as soon as tomorrow. Kinda got that itch going to take random photos again. Feels good!

I've looked, Dave, and all your images are well within the limits. Not one image that was too large. So don't worry about it, keep uploading, keep posting. All is well.
