Hello from Allen (Dallas), TX - Another POTN Refugee

Hello! Another POTN refugee here. I hate it that POTN shut down, but all good things must come to an end sometime. I am grateful that someone decided to step up and fill the void with this forum! I was "hannahsdad" on POTN and am the same here. In case anyone is wondering, my wife and I have no children, so "Hannah" was our first dog, a female yellow Labrador retriever. We eventually lost her 4 years ago, but I am not changing my username. We now have a total of three female Labrador retrievers, of various ages.

I look forward to seeing what everyone on this forum posts. My primary interests are wildlife and landscapes. I am an engineer by profession and a serious, but not professional, photographer, who took up photography in high school and really got into it about 10 years ago. I just replaced my 5D4s with new R5s. Unfortunately, we really have been anywhere that I have been able to use them, although we have several trips coming up. Plus, I am still trying to make sense of all of the new features on the camera!

Hi Scott! Great that you found us and joined. I remember your username, sure, but didn't know the story behind it. Thanks for sharing that with us. Dogs are such wonderful companions. I hope you will soon get a chance to shoot your newly acquired R5's. Great cameras and I'm sure any questions you might have about settings and features, the good folks here will lend you a hand.
