I realise there's a Hobby thread so if this impinges on that then feel free to delete this one please.
I started this at POTN and it got to 960 posts over 64 pages so was quite popular

This was intended for anything made by the poster out of any medium

I opened with this so here it is again

Beautiful!
What do you use for making the dovetails? Do you use a router or a saw & a chisel?

Thanks Michael
I've an Italian dovetail machine I bought from a furniture manufacturer many years ago.
I've cut them by hand on drawers but for these boxes it was quicker.
I prefer the look of finely handcut ones

Not beautiful but very functional. They lasted years until the boys outgrew them.

Nice! It's amazing how strong these PVC pipes are. I made a set of parallettes from PVC pipes for my son's home gym. I'll have to take a photo of it some time.

Especially in compression. They held me and I'm no feather,

Some of my (own make) fishing flies...

My work station...

Been a while since a post here so add a Huon Pine bowl I made when I first bought a lathe many years ago.
I had never turned anything and I launched into a lump of timber I'd had kicking around for years.
It's a beautiful grained piece not uncommon to Huon Pine

Huon Pine is a revered and endangered timber only growing in select parts of the west coast of Tasmania.
It lives to thousands of years and is very oily and highly aromatic
Delightful stuff to work and very durable.
A prized boat building timber and was once used for even kitchen fittings - troughs (sinks ), washing boards, rolling pins.

and another similar size with some lids off other boxes

The lids come off by slight press of an end. Raises the other end.

Wow, these look fantastic!
Love the raised inlays and the beautiful grain of the wood. On the lid on the bottom of the second photo, the light/dark transition of the wood looks like a horizon!

I enjoy making the inlays.
Those veneers can be used very effectively. Especially musk
