The local historical society is doing their annual Civil War re-enactment this weekend. I thought, "What better time to have some fun trying to something new (to me)?" Everything I know about this came from online research in the past two days.
I bought a K&F Concept 10 stop ND to be able to do long exposures wide open in daylight. Thankfully the R6 can focus through it. I know you can add subject blur in PS, but I thought it would be cool to do it for real. Hopefully there are some flags in the wind tomorrow. For my test shot here, I was only able to get down to f/5 with a 4 second exposure. I told her to stand still, but of course she moved, subtly changing the shape of her face and adding a third nostril. But I guess that's how it was back in the day. The background blur was enhanced in Lr with the Lens Blur tool. I applied negative Texture, Clarity, and Dehaze in Lr before going to PS for sharpening, B&W conversion, exposure adjustments, adding some downloaded textures, and adding a slight sepia filter. The vignette was applied last back in Lr.
