Digital Speed Challenge #879 Making an Entrance

I really don't want to judge this but the sticky doesn't give me the option to ask for votes. So I am going to try to give you an idea of what I would like to see.

I want photos of doors, doorways or gates or even windows with someone going in or coming out. Or a parade coming down the street. If you don't have anything like that, it can be an animal coming out of a hole, or even just an interesting door. I would like to see everyone able to participate.

This challenge begins when posted and ends at midnight GMT on 6 October 2025. The winner will be announced shortly thereafter.

The Challenge Rules:

1. Camera: Any DIGITAL CAMERA is allowed.
2. Time: Any on-topic photo taken at any time is eligible, although photos that have won other competitions should NOT be entered.
3. Size: Maximum image size is 1600px on the long end. Minimum size is 800px.
4. Post Processing: Do whatever you like, and the host will decide if it works.
5. Posting: ONE PHOTO per photographer per challenge. List camera model & lens used. Post brief EXIF data: ISO, shutter speed and aperture.
6. Commenting: No commenting and Likes during challenge. After the challenge is closed discussion is encouraged.
7. Keep it clean, and both family and work safe.
8. Have lots of FUN.
9. This text is available in a sticky. Copy the text and paste it in the new thread.

>> THE WINNER ALWAYS SETS THE THEME FOR THE NEXT CHALLENGE, POSTS IT AND JUDGES IT - BE PREPARED <<

I hate having to judge - I loved all of them from Entrance Impossible to Don's old door.

If I was voting, I think I would put the firefighter's first, Ed's lovely stable second, and perhaps Terry's Carmel Castle third.

But best Entrance was Lt.Dave's firefighter

thank you.

i lucked onto this. i was driving home from a building tour in detroit and saw the first trucks, pulling in to the alley way by this abandoned apartment building.

i pulled into the car dealer lot next door, grabbed my bag and pulled out a hi-viz safety vest and put on. the chief was quite impressed with my professional look and let me basically stand wherever i wanted to shoot from and i was at one point, at the base of a ladder they had put against the building.

i eventually moved back because gawkers started showing up and getting too close. i got home, edited the images, burned a CD and drove it down to them the next day.

so i need to come up with a theme... hmmm

ill have one soon!

New Challenge is up!

Not sure if i should have won, looking back through the Sticky on Winners to avoid duplicating a challenge i see that my entry this week, was also entered and won, back near the very beginning of THIS page's history...

SORRY ABOUT THAT!

if it is deemed someone else should get top billing, I'm good with that. i guess i need to pay closer attention to what im doing...
