Digital Speed Challenge #820 Gritty.

Gritty, NOT nostalgia.

Gritty, as it relates to photography, not sandpaper :)



1. Camera: Any DIGITAL CAMERA is allowed.
2. Time: Any on-topic photo taken at any time is eligible, although photos that have won other competitions should NOT be entered.
3. Size: Maximum image size is 1600px on the long end. Minimum size is 800px.
4. Post Processing: Do whatever you like, and the host will decide if it works.
5. Posting: ONE PHOTO per photographer per challenge. List camera model & lens used. Post brief EXIF data: ISO, shutter speed and aperture.
6. Commenting: No commenting and Likes during challenge. After the challenge is closed discussion is encouraged.
7. Keep it clean, and both family and work safe.
8. Have lots of FUN.
9. This text is availabe in a sticky. Copy the text and paste it in the new thread.

i think you can report your own post. (the one i just quoted) and ask for a correction
 
This was a tough one to decide, the win kept switching between old crow and terrypinky every time I looked at either one. Liked them both for different reasons, but...terrypinky takes the win here.
 
Rob, I would really like to hear the back story to this scene if there is one. Good street photography.

I snapped this as I was leaving Kingston town, heading for the mountains. A hot July day. This was in a quasi-suburban area. There are lots of street-side food and crafts vendors around - small and large operations, from fruits/veg like this lady, to jerk chicken BBQed in a steel drum. Also lots in the villages and along the roads in many places.
 
Here's a shot of a lay-by area - up towards the Blue Mountains - just off the side of a narrow winding mountain road, where there were just dozens of BBQs set up doing jerk fish, chicken and more. All competing. All good too.
