I was surprised that there wasn’t a “Lens Sample Archive” thread yet, for the Canon RF 400mm F2.8L IS USM so lets kick this off.

The Eastern Yellow Robin is a vibrant Jewel of the Australian Bush

It is one of Australia's most charming and recognizable bird species. With its distinctive bright yellow chest and underparts, this bird is a delightful sight in the forests and woodlands of eastern Australia.

These robins typically hunt by perching quietly on a low branch or tree trunk, scanning the ground for movement. Once they spot potential prey, they swoop down to snatch it up in a swift, precise movement. This technique is known as "pouncing" and is highly effective in their preferred habitat with dense ground cover.

Taken in the Lamington National Park.

The sharpness in those pictures is fantastic, especially when it's blown up like the second picture.

Here’s a couple taken in the Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens in Brisbane.

The flowers photo is a tripod mounted stack at 1/320 sec, F4.5, 560mm, ISO400.
