Very cool...BTW I believe that pouch is held by velcro only and can be removed entirely.
You are correct, it’s just velcro’d in. I admit I’m often just too lazy to remove it. 🙂
It’s the only backpack I have and it’s been great. It’ll fit under an airline seat, it does not scream “camera gear here!” and it’s good size for me to carry what I want without being to heavy and without having an overly large footprint.

I have it too. And love it. But one of the straps (and not the one that I carry it over my shoulder with!) has broken off as it it threading. Not sure what to do about that. All the rest is still fine. Including the other shoulder strap. Very odd.

I don't think they make them any more, do they?
The original Flipside 300 has been discontinued. There is a redesigned version that looks a lot different.

I actually have one that I am looking to get rid of. I just bought a Think Tank Mirrorless Mover as a replacement, as I wanted to be able to carry a laptop or tablet.

I saw. It also functions as a slingbag now. That's definitely not what I want. So for me it's either fix the one I have or look elsewhere. The flipside was ideal though with its body-side access. Having the bag on my back on the bicycle, it always feels safe as nobody can get to anything.

A pity we live on different continents or I would buy it from you. The Think Tank is no option for me as it's a shoulder bag. Looks nice though.

There is a backpack of that series:

Thanks gossamer. Looks nice. But it doesn't open body-side. Then again, maybe none do and the Lowepro Flipside is the one exception?

Not sure what you mean by "bode-side" lol but if you're referring to opening on the back-side, this one does:

Oh, typo! Body-side. That’s what Lowepro calls it. :D (I corrected my post)

Choosing a new camera bag is hard. I’d rather keep the one I have and fix it.

I have to say though: looks nice…

The Think Tank Mirrorless Mover I bought is a backpack, not a shoulder bag.

When I first heard about the 200-800mm I was very excited, especially given the price point. Then I learned how unavailable they are and purposely tried to avoid looking at the threads since it would just make me want it more and not be able to have it.

Was really hoping to get one before my trip to Africa in June/July, but no joy.

Well, today it has changed! Thanks to Gordon at CPricewatch and the good folks at Camera Canada I now have one on the way! Just ordered, hopefully I will have it for next weekend. Plan on breaking it in with the local Eagle nest.

To top it off, I just learned today that it will work with my 1.4x TC, and with the full range to boot (unlike the RF 100-500mm). 1120mm effective on the R5 and R6M2, 1792mm effective on the R7:oops:

Having this with the RF 70-200mm may mean my RF 100-500mm will be looking for a new home…

Yup, I was on stock alerts for BH Photo as well as a local store. Everytime I got an email, they were gone by the time I replied.

Checkout cpricewatch.com, Gordon is really good at helping me spend my money.

If anyone is interested I have a second copy of this lens. I made two pre-orders initially and I meant to cancel one of them. Well, I ended up needing to move and lost track of a few things and the second pre-order shipped before I could do anything about it. In the middle of moving I was too busy with other things to deal with it. So it's here sitting in the box. I have not listed it up for sale yet as I am just finally getting settled back in after a few recent trips and unpacking.

I'll probably list it soon on some of my local photo club pages as I certainly do not need two of them
