Looks like I may be getting one soon. My question is...the three bags (I prefer backpacks) I own looks to be not tall enough for this lens with body attached. What are you all using? I'm not into toploaders or shoulder bags...but appreciate any recommendations as google was no help.

With it mounted on my R6 and hood reversed, mine will fit in my LowePro Flipside 300 if I squish, or remove, the interior accessory zipper pouch. It’s snug, but definitely works.

I have some larger backpacks, Shimoda X70 en Lowepro 650 AW that easily fit it. I have an older KATA PL220 Bumblebee (I think the brand is now took over by Manfratto) which I use as a smaller backpack. I can fit my R7 with the RF200-800 in here without problems, even with the lenshood on in shooting position I managed to get it in.

I also have a Thinkthank turnstyle 20 v2.0 slingback and I can fit the r7 with the lens into that. Hood needs to be reversed and I need to loosen the tripodmount ring to get it a favorable position (approx 90 degrees counter clock) and then the combi fits in very snug.

I have that bag and didn't even think about removing that pouch!

The only other thing to mention is you will need to loosen and rotate the tripod ring so it does not dig into your back. Here is what it looks like with the internal pouch just squished. I can still easily fit the RF 24-105 on the side.IMG_7439.jpeg

I have it too. And love it. But one of the straps (and not the one that I carry it over my shoulder with!) has broken off as it it threading. Not sure what to do about that. All the rest is still fine. Including the other shoulder strap. Very odd.

I don't think they make them any more, do they?

They are up to a mark III now. The mark II only in 200/500 models over at B&H. Mine is still in pretty good shape 🤞🏼

Very cool...BTW I believe that pouch is held by velcro only and can be removed entirely.
