Canon RF 200-800mm f/6.3-9 IS USM

Just got this lens last week. It's my first RF lens, after switching from dSLR in September. It has allowed me to go up from my usual longest reach of 560 mm (100-400 plus x1.4) to 800. Not got a lot of shots with it yet, but what I have got I am very pleased with.

From today at Musselburgh (all @ 800 mm, off a monopod @ 1/500 sec)...

Edinburgh is in the mid-ground, 6 Km away, while the Forth Bridges are a further 13-15 Km behind Edinburgh. So, the mast on top of the big support is 21 Km away. (A lot of air distortion.)...

Threads like this are difficult for me to post into, because the other shots are always indeed the best of the best, demonstrating the limits of the lenses, but my photos often demonstrate the limits of the photographer...

Plus it feels weird uploading 1600 px-limited photos - hard to really see the capabilities. I'm burned out on linking to photo hosting sites like Flickr after the Photobucket debacle.

In this case, my wife was the photog with the 200-800mm (I was using a different lens combo on my camera), so I'll post what I think she did that looks like it shows off the lens's capabilities.

Posted this elsewhere, but it is so crisp, IMHO:
