Canon RF 100-300mm f/2.8L IS USM

#3 is sooo good ... very well done
Thanks. I love this lens. I hadn't expected it to work as well as it does with the 2x TC.

[Well, at least on the R3/R6II. The R5 has given me good results as well, but the R7 can have some difficulties with the 2xTC.]

I spotted this Little Pied Cormorant drying its wings at the main lake in the Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens, Brisbane.

Taken with a low, rising Sun behind the bird, so I used fill-in flash to show the detail in the bird.

Red-browed finches are native to Australia. These beautiful birds can be easily recognized by the bright red stripe above the eye, and bright red rump. The rest of their body is grey, with olive wing coverts and collar.

They are often seen foraging for grass seeds on the ground, in flocks of up to 10 birds and sometimes more.

Have you experienced issues pairing it with the R5?

I must say that this lens lives on my R3 most of the time and the main use is for Football/Soccer. I'll take it for wildlife as well, since it does so well with the 2x TC and, of course, the 1.4xTC. I tried it out with the R7 and had some slower/less confident AF with the 2xTC. It was alright with the 1.4xTC.

I have used it a few times with the R5 as well. It performed nicely with the 2xTC for the times I tried it, the 1.4xTC as well. It is just that in those situations I'll use the R3 much more often (I'l also have an R7+100-500mm with me). Sometimes when I get 1 body only I'll take the R5. i'm out ot town now (have the R5 with me, but not the 100-300mm. Opted for the 100-500mm instead due to size). When I get back I'll dig through my photo database to see what I have with the combo and post it.
