Fortunately, it was only mud, not rocks. The lens has a permanently attached UV filter, which, like the camera, was easy to clean. However, I decided not to take any more photos from that spot that day .

I've been playing with the 1:1 aspect ration (i.e. square) on the R5. It made me think more about composition, and even then I cropped top and bottom in the second one. The first shot is exactly as shot, i.e. uncropped.
