Wild Alaska posted his review of the R5 II today. Thorough, detailed, and no-nonsense as usual.
Not possible, I am on the east coast. I only ever get Ruby Throated here on the east coast in my neck of the woods.Very nice! (but pretty sure those are female black-chinned hummers, not ruby-throat.)
All four of my Canon NH batteries worked fine for basic shooting. The Neewer batteries get an error message even though they show up as LP-6NH in my R5.I would advise against the E6NH- I inserted one ( with some difficulty, a very tight fit) and had a lot of trouble removing it. Aside from any power issues, they’re just too big!
I think you will really like it. Feels really close to the R3 which is all I use also. Much better than the R5, to me anyway.Just ordered my R5 mkii to see what the fuss is about. Hopefully it'll live up to expectations after almost 3 years with the R3 which has been terrific.
I wonder if you can get one as they're now in short supply...good luck! Many thanks Rob. Super pics as always. If I can get half as good I'll be happy.
My intention is to still use the R3 as my workhorse for football (soccer), but spread the workload with the R5 mkii and use it for specific sports such as motorcycle racing + cricket plus some wildlife if I get the chance.
Ordered it on Saturday and received the tracking info yesterday, and its on it's way this morning for delivery on Thursday. Spare battery, EF-R adapter and memory card also sourced too from different suppliers.I wonder if you can get one as they're now in short supply...good luck!

I have the R3 and R5II. I shoot a lot of soccer and was thinking the same thing about still using the R3 for photographing the game. Then I tried the predictive AI AF (Action priority) on the R5II. It is next level stuff for ball sports and much better than the R3. Here is a vid that Jared Polin did about his experience. The stuff he shows and starts to talk about at 8:15 is pretty much my experience between the 2 cameras. I think the AF in the R5II is without peer to be honest. Many thanks Rob. Super pics as always. If I can get half as good I'll be happy.

Thank you, I use LR and PS. I will also use Topaz Gigapixel with the R3, which does not mess with the color. You always have so beautiful colors on all cameras ! Do you use Lightroom or smth else ?
