The pre-capture feature sounds amazing for bird photography! I always like the Pangolin reviews.

I've seen a few YouTube videos but the one that stood out to me was FroKnows mention of the Action Priority:

On those cameras you had to use DPP to extract the image from the pre-capture file. From the reviews I've seen, the R5 II saves the RAW images like any other image. That's a big improvement. No need for DPP.
Yes, that’s what the Pangolin guys were saying. Having 15 RAW files they precede the shutter press is going to give a lot more keepers. Great feature.

You can also extract the images in camera on the R6m2 and the R7.

The big downside of the pre-shooting mode on those 2 cameras is the buffer. It needs to clear completely before you can do anything else. You can’t even access the menu during that time, and it takes a while. That is a huge pain in the butt. If recording the pre-shooting images is done individually and there’s no more waiting until the buffer clears, that would be a big improvement.

From B&H:
"The Canon LPE6NH battery pack is compatible with the Canon EOS R5 Mark II Mirrorless camera, but there are limitations. With that battery you cannot record 8k video, network capabilities do not work, no high fps video is available, multi function shoe accessories do not work, and only slower drive speeds are available. For full compatibility the new Canon LP-E6P Lithium-Ion Battery must be used.Answered by Daniel C Staff Jul 17, 2024"
