Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6L IS USM

This is the forgotten L lens, sandwiched, as it were, between the legendary 70-200 F/2.8 and the 100-400L. Never did use it but have always seen excellent results from it.

I really miss this lens. In the Canon trinity, I opted for the 70-300L instead of a 70-200. 200mm is an indoor telephoto, barely more than a portrait lens. 300mm is telephoto with no adjectives. That lens and I went to a lot of places together and brought back a ton of shots.

I guess the RF 100-400 is kinda the replacement, but it doesn't sound like 'L' glass at all. I've got an RF 100-500L, but it's huge. For its focal length, the 70-300L was tight and compact. and of course, L-glass sharp. Canon made several EF lenses with the 70-300 focal length, but only the 'L' version spoke to me. I use an RF 70-200/4L now and it's great but, alas, it only goes to 200.

I always has wanted a RF version of this lens with the same focal length and aperture, reduce size and weight, TC compatible (the EF version wasn't) of course. Who knows, maybe one day, meanwhile I did replaced it with the rf 70-200/f4 instead of the rf 100-400.
