Here's a new thread for the users of the mighty Canon EF 400mm f2.8 L IS II USM.
According to Canon's MFT charts this is the sharpest of the Canon 400mm / f2.8 lenses and it's legendary ability to use teleconverters is very warranted.
Here are the MFT's from Canon for the native lens and the 1.4x TC.

Taken at Tebay Service station on the M6 of all places....well...that's my Christmas card shot this year taken care of!

The above MFT chart (with a 2x tc) is out resolving the RF 100-500 LIS natively wide open. That’s how impressively sharp the EF 400/2.8 II L is.

A few tits and Robins from my last visit to Slimbridge, the Blue Tit was shot wide open at 400mm in very low light. The robin was shot using a 2X TC:

And some ducks too, there were also shot at Slimbridge uinsg a 2x TC.

I've just returned from three weeks in Sri Lanka and this lens native or with a 1.4x TC has served me flawlessly. Even with a 2x TC it impressed me massively. It's tac sharp and delivers amazing imagery on my R6ii.
