I've noticed that a 12mm extention tube makes my EF 35mm f1.4 II L a half macro lens! I have to get really close and Depth of fied is really slim. But I'm liking the soft and gentle results.
I don't think it'll ever replace my EF 100mm L IS Macro or my EF 100-400mm f5.6 LIS II for flower shots. But it's a nice effect. These two shots are focus stacked with about 30 images.
