Amazing place! I know the expression "life changing experience" is overwrought, but spending time in the redwoods in the presence of these giants that have been around for more than 2000 years is exactly that.

Visited last August.. Still a heart stopping experience.
I had not been for so many years, after living near them and seeing them often in my earlier days.

I was late arriving at the ferry. Not only was it the last scheduled one for the day but there were no more tickets available so I was put in the stand-by line. I got in at the last possible moment (people behind me got shut out). Then on the island it seemed people were a bit nervous about being left behind so they didn't stay inside very long. I was the last visitor back on the ferry after getting this shot. So it ended up all working out.

I've always wondered what happens if you miss the last ferry back. Do you get the spend the night in one of the cells? That's got to be quite an experience in itself!
