Photos to follow at a later date when the weather conditions improve. I'm heading to Alberta in a couple of weeks so I have the following questions:

1. Have you tried the Wasabi version of the LP- E6NH in your camera? If so, how does it compare to the OEM battery?
2. If you have used the Canon Connect app to geotag photos? Was accuracy reasonable?
3. Anyone know if the Canon hotshoe gps will work on the 90D? It's a bit pricy so...

Question 1: I'm looking for feedback before I try the Wasabis in my 90D.

Question 2: the app seems touch and go. A little finicky. Make sure all the necessary settings are correct? I missed one one day and 40 pictures used 50% of my battery. My testing has involved the app for geotagging when taking random pictures followed by a picture of a hand held gps. So far the difference in reported position can be substantial. Testing continues.

Any feedback appreciated.

Kinda a late reply sorry! I’ve never used wasabi batteries in mine, just either oem or neewer. The neewer seem to work fine. I can’t help with your other questions tho sorry!

Took the new to me 90D out today while I was driving around to get some quick shots up. So far I like it better than the 7D I had that crashed on me. This weekend will give it a test shooting auto-x

I bought a new 90D in October. Quite please with it so far despite its few shortcomings. (Not as customizable as my 7D2). It feels much better in my hand than the R7.

Replying to my own post.

Question #1 - no apparent issues with the wasabi battery installed but I only used it for a short time.

Question #2 - The difference between the app's provided coordinates and a hand-held gps is about 0.05 minutes latitude and longitude. I took a picture of my hand held GPS. The exif tag shows app provided geotagging and the picture shows my gps screen. This illustrated/captured the error. It does seem to be fairly consistent in my small sample of 5 or so images.

From a recent trip to Alberta.

Cropped and resized magpie.

The deer was on the side of a gully (coulee) so it was only resized to capture the angle of the slope. Taken about sunset.

Managed to get this magpie right after take-off. With the camera on 3 fps there wasn't any kind of a sequence, the bird standing on the rock and then just these two adjacent frames

A few more from my trip. We spent most of my time there going on road trips. Outside of that there are a lot of walking trails within easy reach. There are around the river valley. Lethbridge, Alberta

From my trip.
I'm definitely not used to seeing turtles in the wild. A couple of views from different angles. Late April and they are trying to warm up. Apparently later in the summer when it's hot they are not as conspicuous.

And a few more pictures from my April trip that I keep forgetting about. That's about it.

I have been pushing the ISO settings on my 90D. I generally use ISO-800 as my default; ISO-1600 doesn't do well for some reason.

I'm bumping up from ISO-2500 to ISO-8000 which seem to do fairly well when combined with a good denoise application or two (I often mix denoise programs). ISO-4000 seems to be a very workable value for my work. All of the following images are cropped, some by a lot.
