The XTi and 40D have been very good, also.

And I still get some great images from my S3 iS.

If you know how to use it, you'll get great images from them.
Some processing helps, but getting it right is a great reward.
Learn how to use it for what you want to accomplish.
Everything else falls into place afterwards.

Good glass and a steady hand helps keep the 40D relevant.
