Birds of Bolsa Chica - show your photos

Didn't get much today. one keeper. no idea what this is. Is it the Kestrel or something else? falcon?

Osprey! Exclusively a fish eater and makes spectacular dives to catch them.
 
Yes Baan, you got an Osprey/Seahawk. Very lucky to see one. They are plentiful in the PNW and the state actually builds platforms for their nests,

I was excited to see a new bird hehe
I did see it swooping down to try to catch a fish. but it failed. still a cool and powerful swoop. lucky eh? time to buy lottery ticket? :p

I grew up in HB, Warner and Graham Avenues. Used to ride my bike or walk to Bolsa Chica Beach every weekend with my friends. The preserve used to just be wetlands scattered with oil derricks that I could see out my bedroom window. We would slop through there with fishing waders on looking for birds. I love to go back as often as I can and wander through... wish they would have built this before I moved up north.
