I am rediscovering photos from 14 years ago on a visit to Baroda, India. That was before I knew much about photo postprocessing. Editing makes a big difference.

It’s a bit ironic that she repairs shoes but doesn’t wear any herself.

In India, those are called custurd apples (or SitaPhal in the local language). They are very messy to eat but are super sweet.

Oh, thank you. That is very interesting. I should have bought some and tried them!

You could possibly get some in the local Indian Grocery store, both fresh or frozen. Fresh is definitely better.

We shouldn't be surprised that things are strange (to us) in strange lands.

I am aware of that. My point was that she's probably too poor to own shoes herself.
