DIY Backyard Birding "Station" - DIY backyard station for bird/wildlife photography

I like to shoot at any wildlife or birds that visit my backyard. Normally, I'd drag out my heavy systematic Gitzo tripod to my backyard deck, set it up, and shoot. But I got tired of having to set it up each time I shoot, which is often, so I came up with something simpler, yet as efficient:

Great setup. I was thinking of something along the lines of this. My back yard is up against the woods so I always enjoy shooting off my back deck, but like you, am not a fan of pulling the tripod out of the closet and case. I was thinking about setting up NG up some sort of clamp mechanism but will probably give this a go as it's easier to move around to both side of the deck... and less likely to damage the rail from the clamp.

It's been handy for backyard deck shooting. It's simple and portable with solid foundation.
