B&W integrity question

I have been booted out of a few groups for posting this Flower picture. It was processed in B&W and I tinted it with color grading with a bit of blue to soften it up.

is it wrong to consider it B&W? Is sepia wrong also? or is it some people are just 100% over the top of being purists?

Here is both versions of the image, tell me what do you think and which one you prefer.

I think some say B+W when the mean monochrome, other really mean B+W.

But for me sepia toning is a valid technique, I often used it in the chemical printing period.

Best thing is to check the thread intention in the first post.

i found B&W groups to be the most anal of any i found, my shots were B&W with no tones, sepia etc etc and they still moaned as id not actually taken them in the first instance in camera as B&W but had converted them from a colour shot even though you can not tell the difference...their loss i just left the groups
