Air Shows

Time to break my duck.... F-22 Raptor at Oshkosh this year

Question for the airshow crowd . . . at POTN I posted my launch shots under the airshow folder, figuring they were quite an airshow. What does everyone think? Should I post them here, or should I start a new thread? Thoughts? Opinions?

definitely an airshow!

Tonight's SpaceX Falcon 9 Starlink "Airshow" at Cape Canaveral . . .

This launch "streak shot" shows the first stage booster streak, a brief gap when MECO happens, followed by the second stage burn to orbit. The orange streak near the horizon is the first stage booster executing the "entry burn" to slow the first stage, thus preventing burning up as it reenters the thickest part of the atmosphere. That burn appears low, but is actually tens of thousands of feet up, but since it is over a hundred miles downrange, we see it close to our visible horizon.

For those in the area, SpaceX is scheduled to launch a Falcon Heavy (Three boosters strapped together) this Sunday at 7PM or so, from Pad 39A. The two side boosters will boost back and return to land side by side at Cape Canaveral Pad 13 / LZ-1 and 2. I believe the center booster will continue and do a recovery landing to their landing barge at sea. This will be the first time they recover all three of the boosters from a "Heavy" launch . . . but wait, there's more! Four hours later they will launch a Falcon 9 from Pad 40 (just like tonight's launch profile). This will be a two-fer! If the schedule holds (which admittedly is an iffy thing in the rocket business), this will be quite a show!
