a visit to the Flying Horse Sculpture Exhibit at Pingree School in 2024

I visited the Flying Horse Sculpture Exhibit at the Pingree School for the first time at the end of September 2024. Last year's exhibit was the 15th; I plan to return this year to see the new creations.

Flying Horse Sculpture Exhibit

The school is in South Hamilton, MA. If you're in the area during the sculpture exhibit I highly recommend a visit.

One of the first sculptures I saw was a piece by a favorite sculptor, Dale Rogers. This piece is titled "Think and Be Free".

Perched in a tree were wire bird sculptures by Danielle Krcmar. They were titled BIRD SKETCHES.

A long tube of liquid with what I believe is colored oil moves about when the tube is tipped was created by Heidi Zander and titled CHILD'S PLAY: CAUSE AND EFFECT.

What appeared to be metal balls were floating in a pond, titled ROUND by an unknown artist.

Triangles titled EQUILATERALLY BUOYANT were located in the same pond, created by Joe Fix.

STALKING CAT, by Walter Clark hugs the base of a tree.

A metal horse appeared to run across the lawn. It is titled STRENGTH AND NOBILITY, created by Jose Criollo.

An ANGEL OF DEATH stood on a pedestal, created by Jack Howard-Potter.

Great set, Denise! It was wonderful seeing the eclectic collection. Can you provide a bit of history on Horse Sculpture Exhibit? I take it, based on your first post, that it is a yearly event? Do the sculptures get taken down after the year is up and then a new set created the following year?

The exhibit is a combination of temporary and permanent works. Last year's exhibit had 50 temporary and 20 permanent.

The temporary work is removed at the end of the show. I don't know the process for selecting the temporary works but I look forward to this year's show.
