30mm Macro

I recently got the Oly 30mm Macro, on sale for a couple of hundred Cdn What a fantastic little lens, amazing how super sharp it is! I'm using it for negative scanning - I can focus with the lens less than an inch away from the negative. Planning on using it this spring for macros. Highly recommend it, for such a cheapie it punches far above it's weight!

I have the Only 60mm and love it, so I've no doubts the 30mm will become a much-used lens.

The aim is to use a macro lens as a prime lens at its native focal length, and then, within the frame of the first shot, use the lens to show something in detail at 1:1.

Blasphemy! You don't need a lens???

It's one of those lenses you think you won't get a lot of use out of, and then you discover all sorts of projects you can do with it.

And if you look in the thread @ShaneG did exactly what I'd overlooked, and took a shot using the lens as a non-macro-but-close-up lens, and then, within that first frame, a true macro shot.

This above idea is also 100% OK by me
